‘Serenity’ Apartments in Jamaica Plain Begins Leasing
JAMAICA PLAIN – Longwood Group, developer of Serenity Apartments located at 101 South Huntington Avenue, has signed an agreement with Churchill Corporate Housing to lease 24 apartments in the new building.
Serenity Apartments recently celebrated its official Grand Opening with a Casino Night Charity Gala, which was held on May 24, 2017. The community welcomed its first residents on Tuesday of this week. The apartment building is professionally managed by Greystar and is currently 38.5 percent leased.
“As we designed the community we knew we needed to create something special to draw tenants to this corridor from Fenway and other nearby neighborhoods,” said Anthony Nader, Vice President of Longwood Group, who oversaw construction and financing.
Serenity Apartments consists of 195 residences on the previously vacant 1.1-acre site. The building “steps up” from five stories along Jamaica Way to 13 stories along South Huntington Avenue, with a courtyard in between. The building’s design offers views of Olmsted Park for pedestrians on South Huntington and is close to Longwood Medical Center
“We are delighted to welcome new residents to Serenity Apartments,” said Stephanie Donlin, Director of Real Estate for Greystar. “The community offers well-appointed apartment homes and variety of convenient amenities.”
Nader said, “The growth coming down the Brookline Ave corridor, with the Children’s Hospital expansion at Brookline Place, Homewood Suites and potentially an additional hotel at Brookline Avenue, has created an exciting area of the city to be in. “More restaurants will activate the streetscape, but the neighborhood is already beginning to come alive.”
Amenities include 24-Hour concierge, lobby, lounge, billiard room, meeting and collaborative areas by RD Jones interior design, private courtyard by CopleyWolff landscape design, roof deck pool with lounge, barbecue deck and green roof, Wi-Fi access in all common areas, direct-access garage parking, on-site Zipcar location, electric car charging stations, LEED Gold Certified and covered bicycle storage area for 195 bicycles. Units feature oversized windows and Nest thermostat systems.
“The rooftop pool and amenity area are really something to be seen,” Nader said. “The leasing demand is showing that with a destination asset, that provides a great living experience, prospective residents are willing to move to this side of the Longwood Medical Area.”
